Off to Egypt
Um 5 Uhr
riss mich mein Wecker aus dem Bett - wenn ich nicht gleich aufstehe, wird es
nichts! Zudem stand ja meine Reise nach Ägypten an und dafür hüpfte ich gerne so
früh aus meinem Bett! : ) Ich bereitete Kaffee zu und verstaute die letzten
Dinge in meine Koffer – ich nehme wie immer viel mit wenn ich länger reise, man
weiss ja heutzutage nie... 2020 sass ich in Goa (https://franziskaaeschbach23.blogspot.com)
fest und dieses Jahr auf den Seychellen (https://franziskaaeschbach26.blogspot.com/2020)...
Ich freu mich riesig, dass alles geklappt hat und ich das verrückte Europa verlassen
konnte - alles ändert so schnell: Man weiss nie was morgen noch gilt und man
benötigt immer mehr Dokumente!
Eine
halbe Stunde später weckte ich meine Tochter Melanie, die bei mir geschlafen hat
um mich an den Flughafen zu fahren. : )) Da wir um 6 Uhr losfuhren, war der
Verkehr noch OK, aber die Strassen waren schon ziemlich voller Autos und ich
nervös wie immer… Autofahren macht heutzutage echt keinen Spass mehr: Zu viele
Autos sind vor allem in den Stosszeiten mit meist nur einer Person sind
unterwegs – und die Autos werden immer monströser…
At 5 am my alarm clock tore me out of bed - if I don't get up right away, it won't work! In addition, today started my trip to Egypt and this was a good reason to hop out of bed this early! : ) I made coffee and stowed the last things in my suitcases - as always I take a lot with me when I travel for a longer time, you never know these days... In 2020 I was stuck in Goa (https://franziskaaeschbach23.blogspot.com) and this year in the Seychelles (https://franziskaaeschbach26.blogspot.com/2020)... I'm really happy that everything worked out and I could leave crazy Europe - things changes so quickly: You never know what will apply tomorrow and you need more and more documents!
Half an hour later I woke my daughter Melanie, who spent the night with me in order to drive me to the airport. : )) Since we drove off at 6 am, traffic was still OK but the streets were already pretty packed with cars and I was nervous as always... Driving is no fun anymore these days: Too many cars - especially during rush hour with mostly only one person - are on the road… and the cars are getting more and more monstrous...

45 Minuten
später erreichten wir den Flughafen Zürich-Kloten mit viel weniger Reisenden
als üblich, so dass das Check-In Prozedere im Nu erledigt war. Pünktlich um 8:15
Uhr hob Edelweiss (https://www.flyedelweiss.com) in Zürich ab und ich genoss
einen wunderschönen Flug über dem Nebelmeer, die Alpen, Italien, Griechenland
und das ungewöhnlich etwas bewölkte Ägypten. Für das geplante Nickerchen hatte
ich keine Zeit, denn die Gespräche mit den Ägyptenliebhabern Bea, Miriam und
Hansi in den Sitzen hinter mit, waren viel interessanter. : )
Dies ist
etwa das 15. Mal in Ägypten für mich, davon etwa 10 Mal in Hurghada (inkl.
Wüstentrips mit Marey)... Seit fast 40 Jahren habe ich eine spezielle
Verbindung zu Arabern: Die ersten lernte ich in meinem ersten Job als
Receptionistin in einem 4* Hotel kennen, Saudi-Araber die mit ihren Familien
Apartments mieteten und die neu aufkommende Informatik in der Schweiz studierten.
Schnell knüpfte ich Freundschaft mit diesen herzlichen Menschen, bekam
Einsichten in ihre Kultur und bereiste die Schweiz mit ihnen. 5 Jahre später
mit meinen ersten Ersparnissen machte ich mit meiner Freundin Susle eine
3-wöchige Studienreise durch Ägypten: Kairo, Luxor, Assuan, Abu Simbel,
Ismailia (Suez Kanal) – unsere Erwartungen wurden übertroffen: Nicht nur die historischen Bauwerke sind
imposanter als auf Bildern, sondern auch die liebevollen Menschen taten es mir
an. Vor 20 Jahren lernte ich Scheich Marey kennen und verbrachte etliche Male
in der Wüste mit ihm (https://franziskaaeschbach20.blogspot.com) – eine meiner besten Erfahrung
in meinem Leben: Die Beduinen respektieren die Natur und wissen noch sooo viel,
was wirklich wichtig ist…
45 minutes later we reached Zurich-Kloten airport with far fewer travellers than usual, thus check-in procedure was done in no time. Edelweiss (https://www.flyedelweiss.com) took off punctually at 8:15 am in Zurich and I enjoyed a wonderful flight over the sea of fog, the Alps, Italy, Greece and the unusually slightly cloudy Egypt. I didn't have time for my planned nap, because the conversations with the Egypt lovers Bea, Miriam and Hansi in the seats behind me were much more interesting. : )
This is about the 15th time in Egypt for me, about 10 times in Hurghada (including desert trips with Marey)... For almost 40 years I have had a special connection with Arabs: The first ones I learned to know in my first job as a receptionist in a 4* hotel, Saudi Arabians who rented apartments with their families and studied the newly emerging computer science in Switzerland. I quickly made friends with these warm-hearted people, gained insights into their culture and toured Switzerland with them. 5 years later with my first savings, I went on a 3-week study trip through Egypt with my friend Susle: Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, Abu Simbel, Ismailia (Suez Canal) - our expectations were exceeded: Not only the historical buildings are more impressive than they are on pictures, but also the loving people appealed to me. 20 years ago I met Sheikh Marey and spent several times in the desert with him (https://franziskaaeschbach20.blogspot.com) - one of my best experiences in my life: The Bedouins respect nature and still know sooo much of what is really important...

Um 13:30 Uhr
Ortszeit (-1 h) nach etwas mehr als 4 Stunden Flug, landeten wir in Hurghada.
Da ich diesmal ein Visum online gelöst und einen negativen PCR Spucktest hatte
(man kann auch ohne Tests in Ägypten einreisen und einen bei der Ankunft für
EUR 30 machen), war ich im Nu draussen. Dort erwartete mich Beshoy von SeaView
Turtles Hurghada (https://seaview-turtles.business.site). Auf dem Weg nach El Fayrouz
(ca. 20 km nördlich vom Flughafen und Hurghada Richtung El Gouna) machten wir
einen Stopp bei Vodafone, kauften Orangen auf dem Markt und grosse Hayat Wasser
(natürliches Quellwasser aus Ägypten). Ich versuche immer lokale Dinge
einzukaufen und beim Wasser schaue ich, dass es aus einer Quelle stammt… also
nie nur destilliertes Wasser und niemals Produkte von Nestlé (google mal und erwache
was für Verbrecher das sind)!
At 1.30 pm local time (-1 hour) after a little more than a 4-hours’ flight, we landed in Hurghada. Since this time I had a online visa as well as a negative PCR spit test (you can enter Egypt without a test and do one on arrival for EUR 30), I was out in no time. There Beshoy from SeaView Turtles Hurghada (https://seaview-turtles.business.site) was awaiting me. On the way to El Fayrouz (approx. 20 km north of the airport and Hurghada towards El Gouna) we made a stop at Vodafone, bought oranges at the market and large Hayat water bottles (natural spring water from Egypt). I always try to buy local things and with water I make sure that it comes from a spring... thus: not just distilled water and no products from Nestlé (google it and wake up what kind of criminals they are)!

Dann
erreichten wir endlich das Turtles Beach Resort, wo ich Beshoy’s
Zwillingsbruder John traf und meine hübsche Wohnung G2.9 für einen Monat bezog.
Das Turtles Beach Resort Hurghada liegt in Al Ahia, so heisst die Küste
zwischen Hurghada und El Gouna - genau in El Fayrouz (= türkis), so wird dieser
Ort mit Geschäften und Restaurants genannt.
Then we finally reached Turtles Beach Resort, where I met Beshoy’s twin brother John and moved into my lovely apartment G2.9 for a month. Turtles Beach Resort Hurghada is located in Al Ahia, that's how the coast between Hurghada and El Gouna is called - exactly in El Fayrouz (= turquoise), the name of this place with shops and restaurants.

Das
Strandrestaurant Turtle Grill ist im Winter nur bis 18 Uhr geöffnet und ich
hatte just noch Zeit mein erstes Abendessen bei Emat und Anton einzunehmen. Dort
machte ich auch meine ersten Freundschaften mit den Angestellten des Resorts
und den Weltenbummler Natalia & Brian – genau das, was ich gebraucht habe: Liebe
Menschen mit einem Lächeln (meist von Herzen)! : )
Obschon
ich müde war und früh zu Bett wollte, war ich so glücklich und wach, dass ich
bis um 2 Uhr alle meine Sachen ausräumte und an den richtigen Ort verstaute um
mich richtig zuhause zu fühlen…

The beach restaurant Turtle Grill is only open until 6 pm in winter and
I was just in time to have my first dinner with Emat and Anton. And there I
made my first friendships with the employees of the resort and the
globetrotters Natalia & Brian - exactly what I needed: Lovely people with a
smile (mostly from the heart)! : )
Even though I was tired and intended to go to bed early, I felt so happy
and awake that I unpacked all my things and put them in the right place to
really feel at home until 2 am...
