Am
Donnerstag fuhr ich zum ersten Mal in die Stadt Hurghada seit ich hier im
Turtles Beach Resort in El Fayrouz bin. Mohammed Taxi, mein treuer Freund und
Taxifahrer seit einigen Jahren, holte mich um 17:30 Uhr ab. 10 km und 15
Minuten später setzte er mich in der Sheraton Road ab, wo mein Arabischlehrer Tamer
bereits auf mich wartete... und ab ging es an den vielen Geschäften vorbei
Richtung Marina. Im viel gelobten Fischrestaurant El Halaka (https://www.facebook.com/search/top?q=el%20halaka%20fish%20restaurant)
kombinierten wir unsere Arabischlektion mit einem leckeren Essen! : )
Hurghada
bei Nacht leuchtet nicht nur an Weihnachten in allen Farben... In Ägypten
findet Weihnachten zweimal statt: am 24. Und 25. Dezember und auch am 6. Und 7.
Januar, wenn die Kopten (wie die Orthodoxen) feiern. Es gibt etwa 90% Muslims
und 10% Kopten hier.
On Thursday I visited to the city of Hurghada for the first time since I am here at the Turtles Beach Resort in La Fayrouz. Mohammed Taxi, my loyal friend and taxi driver for several years, picked me up at 5:30 pm. 10 km and 15 minutes later he dropped me off on Sheraton Road, where my Arabic teacher Tamer was waiting for me... and off we walked past the many shops in direction of the Marina. In the much-praised fish restaurant El Halaka (https://www.facebook.com/search/top?q=el%20halaka%20fish%20restaurant) we combined our Arabic lesson with a delicious meal! : )
Hurghada by night does not only glitter in all colours at Christmas... In Egypt Christmas takes place twice: on December 24th and 25th and also on January 6th and 7th, when the Copts (like the Orthodox) celebrate. There are around 90% Muslims and 10% Copts here.

Für mich
ist Weihnachten nichts anderes als eine kommerzielle Veranstaltung! Neben den
Geschenken hat der Weihnachtsbaum die Hauptrolle übernommen... wie an Ostern
der Osterhase - das hat mit dem ursprünglich religiösen Fest kaum noch etwas zu
tun... und in meinen Erfahrungen gibt es an Weihnachten mehr Zoff als an
anderen Tagen! Deshalb mache ich da schon lange nicht mehr mit und feiere
Weihnachten oder Ostern oder was auch immer, wann immer es passt! Zudem tun mir
all die Bäume leid, die nur für diesen Anlass gezogen und gefällt werden -
Menschen sind ja so arrogant und respektlos! Sie denken doch tatsächlich sie
seien die intelligentesten Wesen – dabei verstehen sie Tiere und Pflanzen gar
nicht, die auch kommunizieren… : ((
So genoss
ich die Weihnachtstage in aller Ruhe mit meinen üblichen Beschäftigungen:
Morgenritual auf meinem Balkon mit Meditation, Arabisch, Arbeit an meinem Blog,
Kaffee, Tee, Obst und Brunch. Sowie mein tägliches Fuss- & Handbad im Roten
Meer. Joggen diese Woche war mit extrem viel Wind, so dass ich fast flog!
For me Christmas is nothing more than a commercial event! In addition to gifts, the Christmas tree has taken on the main role... like the Easter bunny at Easter - that has hardly anything to do with the originally religious festival... and in my experience there is more spat at Christmas than on other days! That's why I bailed out of it a looong time ago and celebrate Christmas or Easter or whatever, whenever it is convenient! I also feel sorry for all the trees that are grown and felled for this occasion only - people are so arrogant and disrespectful! They really think they are the most intelligent beings - and they do not even understand animals and plants who also communicate... : ((
So I enjoyed the Christmas days in peace and quiet with my usual activities: morning ritual on my balcony with meditation, Arabic, working on my blog, coffee, tea, fruit and brunch. As well as my daily foot and hand bath in the Red Sea. Jogging this week was extremely windy, so I almost flew!

Amina & Hossem kennen... die Energien stimmten vom ersten Moment an und wir
tauschten so vieles auch Gemeinsames aus... und erst ein Hüngerchen trieb mich
4 1/2 Stunden später ins Abu Ahmed Alhussiny (https://de.restaurantguru.com/mtam-abw-ahmd-alhsyny-Abou-Ahmed-El-Husiny-Restaurant-Hurghada), wo ich mein Mitternachtsmahl
genoss. : )
On Christmas Eve I got to know Amina & Hossem in the Delifresh Market & Bakery (https://www.facebook.com/Bakeryhurghada)... the energies matched from the first moment and we exchanged so many things also we had in common... and only my hunger made me leave 4 1/2 hours later to Abu Ahmed Alhussiny (https://de.restaurantguru.com/mtam-abw-ahmd-alhsyny-Abou-Ahmed-El-Husiny-Restaurant-Hurghada), where I enjoyed my midnight meal. : )

Am 26.12.
nahm ich an der Turtles Christmas Party teil… wie immer kam ich zu spät – meine
Mutter sagt immer, dass ich noch mal zu spät in den Himmel komme! ; ) Natalia,
ihre Mutter und Brian hatten mir einen Platz an ihrem Tisch reserviert und ich
lernte viele der tolle Menschen hier im Resort kennen. Nach dem grossen Essen
vom Buffet, verdauten wir tanzend bei live Musik – Corona-Zeit ist bisher die
beste Reisezeit: Es ist nirgendwo überfüllt mit Massen von Menschen und nur
spezielle Menschen fürchten sich nicht und sind unterwegs…

On December 26th I attended the Turtles Christmas Party... as always, I
was late - my mom always says ‘ One day you are going to be late for heaven’! ;
) Natalia, her mother and Brian had reserved a seat for me at their table and I
met a lot of the great people here at the resort. After the big meal from the
buffet, we digested while dancing to live music - Corona time is the best
travel time so far: It is nowhere packed with crowds of people and only special
people are not afraid and travelling...
